from the photographer...
"I have been photographing people for more that twenty years, and to this day, I approach every new subject with a mixture of fear and exhilaration. Are not those the essential emotions in the creative process? Every artist's dilemma, I presume. It could be that every individual that comes to a sitting arrives with his or her own physiology and personal landscape, as well as a myriad of psychologies. How to find the essence of an individual and capture it , is the task. A pretty scary journey; it is like designing the parachute on the way down. That is when I experience the exhilaration. What an awesome quest to try to reveal the countenance of an individual, let alone their soul.
But an individual's face is not the only telling feature that I respond to. Thus, my shutter reacts to the texture and lines of aged and work-worn hands, and the softness and suppleness of newborn skin. or the juxtaposition of the two. There is so much to explore, and so much to discover in any one individual, the visual poetry is infinite. How privileged I am to labor in a profession that to me is not work, but an adventure."
"I sincerely hope that you enjoy my images. Please take time to contact me for your portrait needs."
"I look forward to meeting you."
